Embracing the Long Run: Lessons from My Recent Marathon

April 16, 2024

The Three Most Common Types Workers Compensation Fraud

September 1, 2018
Workers’ compensation insurance is a safety net for employees who are injured on the job, as well as for their employers. It pays for lost wages, medical expenses and other expenses and benefits incurred by an injured worker. Sometimes, however, unethical employers, workers and medical providers attempt to bilk the system. The National Insurance Crime Bureau estimates that one in 10 of all property/casualty insurance claims are fraudulent.

IMPORTANT: Wildfire Season Preparation

August 1, 2018
Wildfires can pose particular dangers to both lives and property because they often begin unnoticed and can spread quickly. According to the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS)¹, windborne embers present a significant threat from wildfires and are the primary cause of most building ignitions. Other wildfire threats include radiant heat and direct flame contact. If you live in an area prone to wildfires, you can help keep yourself, your family and your property safe by taking steps to reduce your risks.
