In 2018, I was the last finisher at the REVEL Mt Charleston Marathon — 45 minutes past the course cutoff, and after multiple attempts to pick me up in the “sag wagon”. Rather than viewing this as a defeat, I embraced it as a pivotal motivational moment. This year, I returned with an ambitious goal: not just to avoid last place, but to finish in under 6 hours!
